MQTT

Free Local Machine Planned

The homelab mesh. Publish CYCON + alerts to your broker and automate anything.

Publish to your broker. Unlocks Home Assistant, Node-RED, wallboards, lights.

Where to get it

Your own MQTT broker — Mosquitto, EMQX, or the one inside Home Assistant.

Install / what you need

Self-host Mosquitto: `docker run -p 1883:1883 eclipse-mosquitto`. Or use your existing broker.

How to connect

  1. 1 Have an MQTT broker reachable on your LAN.
  2. 2 Open the dashboard's Notifications panel → Add destination → choose mqtt, fill in the broker host + topic prefix (+ TLS/creds).
  3. 3 Subscribe downstream (Home Assistant, Node-RED, a dashboard).
  4. 4 Hit Send test on the destination card and watch the topic.

When you'd use it

Drive the CYCON desk light via Home Assistant.
Feed Node-RED automations + wallboards.
Zigbee2MQTT / industrial mesh integration.
Sovereignty

Publishes to YOUR broker on your LAN. The backbone of fully-local, automation-driven alerting.

Who notifies through it

Herald — the Guild's voice role — routes alerts, daily digests, and AI verdicts here, on a per-CYCON-state matrix you control. CYCON 1/2 alerts repeat until an operator acks.
